Today is DD's first day of new school, and maybe I should say the first day of our new life.

We need to meet Mrs. P at school by 8:15, so we left home around 8:00. When we arrived there, there is another new boy 's first day. His name is Pk. So we wait until he finish his routine of the day. Then, I gave Mrs. P the registration packet and thr money. Later she brought DD into her classroom to put all her stationary to her own desk.

As time is approaching to 8:30, we brought DD to outside to line up. Once we got down from the steps to the black top, there is a line that looks like the 3rd grader's line. So I asked one of the girls if this is the right place for DD to line up. Then we walked to the end of the line. Just before we moved toward the end, there was a mom saying hello  to us and checking are we the new family they all are expecting. What a suprise to us! Then, there was one girl asked me, " Are you DD's mom?" I nodded and smiled big. Quicker than I can think, a group of girls escorted DD to her spot. My DH (dear husband) and I stepped back and watched her surrounding by a group of warm, friendly, and cute girls.

Later, the bell rang,  her teacher Mrs. G looked at me and waved her hand to signal me "bye-bye". I signed to DD to tell her "I believe in you", she nodded and smiled back. And I blowed a kiss to her. She smiled.

I know this is the moment I need to let go and let God. God has chosen this school for her, and is going to have a big plan for her.

I met one of the friend from my BS group, she told me that starting from last Monday and we can get in this Monday, that is fast. Actually, she said: " That is very fast!" I know it's fast, but didn't think that is super fast.

I got home to pray for DD's new beginning of life for a while, then the phone ring kept on ringing. One is from DD's previous school mom. She talked about the girls were sad for DD's leaving and they all missed her. Then she said her daughter has a good friend that goes to this school too. And I found out she is truly one of DD's classmates. And this mom mentioned that this school is hard to get in. I knew that in years ago when I applied DD to their kindergarten program, but failed to get in, due to the waiting list.

While I finally got the time to sit down in front of my computer, I read my e-mails and got one mail from Mrs. G to inform me the classroom web site and the introduction of our family to the whole class family. What a thoughtful act! I am touched by this.

I also found 2 e-mails from DD's old school's boy's family. I know DD is cute, sweet, smart, and mature. But didn't quite realize that she is really beloved by her peers. Thank God for this temperament and character.

I was so excited for this morning, the 1st day of school, and also excited to pick her up and to see her face when she walked to me. But before she walked to me that I can see her, one girl came approaching to me to tell me that DD had a good time; DD enjoyed the new school, DD likes her PE class, DD likes her computer class, ...etc.
And I did see my DD came out to me with a big smile on her face. Good!

Later, when we arrived home, I looked at her backpack and home work assignment. I really thought I made the right decision. (or I should say, I obeyed God's choice for her which was right.) What I saw was really a proper 3rd grader's homework with the right amount and proper depth for her level. But I need to work hard to catch up the gap of her math from her old school to the new school. Hopefully, she will catch up in a week.

I am relieved and happy of what I saw, very much.
